Founded in 1997, Maelgwyn Mineral Services Ltd (MMS) is an expanding independent company that is leading the world in product and process innovation in the field of mineral processing and environmental technology. The company has patented technology in a number of areas including for froth flotation, gold leaching and mineral liberation.
MMS is based in Cardiff, Wales – Europe’s youngest capital city. The companies’ projects are world-wide, so overseas travel is the norm for company personnel.
THE ROLE
For our future growth plans we are looking for a practical person with engineering experience to join our team. The role of the job will be to manage the onsite maintenance requirements of our Aachen reactors installed at customers sites throughout the world.
ENGINEERING FLEET MANAGER
MMS currently has several upcoming Aachen reactor contracts at different gold mines. These Aachen reactors are leased with MMS providing the wear parts. This position would be responsible for ensuring the all-site issues post commissioning are addressed to our client’s satisfaction. Responsibilities of this new position would include.
- Manage on-site maintenance of Aachen reactors.
- Interact with client operational and technical teams to gather information and develop positive client relationships.
- Manage spare parts inventories and orders.
- Train plant-based teams on Aachen operations
- Ensuring compliance with international engineering standards
- Identify areas for product improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
The full experience that this position ideally requires includes: –
- Willing to travel to often remote mine sites. Significant international travel will be required particularly in the first two years of this position.
- 10+ years’ heavy engineering experience. Experience within the mining, water or process industries would be advantageous but not essential.
- Familiar with engineering nomenclature would be advantageous.
- Project Management experience
- Good English written and verbal communication skills.
- Good leadership and team working skills are essential.
- Experience working in remote locations would be highly advantageous.
- Ability to effectively communicate and execute cross-functional projects and initiatives through different levels and functions in the business.
- Microsoft 365 proficient.
- Hold a valid driving licence.
