Tom Rigby Evans

Business Development Manager

Tom began his career with Shell UK working in fuel distributions and scheduling, developing skills in logistics and planning which have carried through to subsequent roles. In 2013, Tom began working with a leading independent oil and gas consulting group based out of Denver CO, in an administrative support position before taking a more active role in business development.

In 2017, whilst still in this role he obtained a postgraduate certificate in mining life cycle analysis from Camborne, which was the beginnings of a career shift towards the mining sector. Tom continued working in a commercial role in onshore upstream oil and gas until 2019 when he began studying an MSc in Minerals Processing, also at Camborne School of Mines.

In 2020 Tom began working for a newly operational Scottish gold mine, initially as a plant supervisor before taking on a role as plant metallurgist before joining Maelgwyn in April 2023. Tom’s role as process metallurgist at Maelgwyn is focussed on helping clients achieve improved performance in their leach and flotation circuits through use of Aachen and Imhoflot technology.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys wearing Christmas jumpers in September, has a keen interest in bird watching and also has a BSc in Environmental Science which might explain a few things.
