RYAN R. SCHULTZ
Metallurgical Engineer
Ryan has a BEng in Chemical Engineering from University of Pretoria in South Africa. From 2010 until 2014, he worked at three different operations for Minopex within South Africa, gaining experience in the commodities, processing, and day-to-day plant experience of PGMs and Chromite sands. His role during this period started as Junior Metallurgist which progressed to Plant Senior Metallurgist and occasional acting of Process Superintendent. His clients included PPM (Pilanesberg Platinum Mine), AMCOL International, Anglo Platinum and Lonmin. From 2014 until 2020, Ryan worked at two different operations for Glencore within the Democratic Republic of Congo, gaining experience in the commodities and processing of Copper and Cobalt. His role during this period ranged from Expat Metallurgist, to Commissioning Metallurgist, to Process Safety Coordinator, to Process Control Improvement Metallurgist, to Section Metallurgist. This allowed him to broaden his own knowledge around all aspects of plant experience but at the same time to allow him to share his own knowledge with the local workforce.
In 2020, Ryan returned to South Africa to gain experience from a commercial standpoint rather than the operational standpoint before. From 2020 until 2021, he worked for TEE (a grinding media and liner (chutes and mills) manufacturing company) within South Africa before joining MMS in June 2021, as the opportunity to work within Europe and Globally could not be missed. Ryan’s responsibilities at MMS, from his 10 years of operational experience, are to implement all the required systems around the Aachen technology, while building and maintaining client relationships, by ensuring the best performance of the MMS technology through regular consultations and servicing.
