Mathias, who holds a BEng. in Metallurgy from the Namibia University of Science and Technology, boasts over 4 years of experience in the mining industry, particularly with B2Gold Corp. Namibia and Weatherly Mining Namibia. While his primary expertise lies in gold and copper mining, he has also extensive testwork experience with minerals like graphite and fluorspar. He began his career as a Graduate Metallurgical Engineer at B2Gold Corp., focusing on process improvements, and later transitioned to a Process Engineer role at Weatherly Mining, where he managed production planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, he has experience with ScotGold Corp., a gold mine located in the UK.

Beyond his mining expertise, Mathias broadened his horizons in logistics and supply management during a stint at DHL. He currently serves as a Project Metallurgist at Maelgwyn Mineral Services Ltd in Cardiff, Wales, implementing metallurgical projects.

Notably, Mathias is an Associate member of the SAIMM (Southern Africa Institute of Mining and Metallurgy).
