DR. AHMAD HASSANZADEH
Chief Research Officer
Dr. Ahmad Hassanzadeh has a BSc. degree in Mining Engineering (Exploration) from Sahand University of Technology (Iran) and pursued his MSc. and PhD. in Mineral Processing at Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman (Iran) and Istanbul Technical University (Turkey). For almost three years, he industrially worked as a process engineer for National Iranian Copper Industries Co (NICICO). He later spent six months as a researcher at Montan University of Leoben (Austria) when he was awarded the Erasmus Exchange Program in 2016. Ahmad moved to Germany in 2017, worked as a research associate (Post-Doc) at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR). He joined the Maelgwyn Mineral Service in July (2022) to undertake the role of Chief Research Officer (CRO) in the field of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy.
Ahmad passionately seeks solutions for the current fundamental and industrial challenges of mining and mineral processing industries mainly focusing on recovering fine/ultrafine and coarse particles. His area of expertise includes pre-treatment processes, comminution, classification, flotation, and extractive metallurgy. He published 42 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 33 conference proceeding papers in high-prestigious journals and congresses in the last six years (h-index 14, citation 627). He won 2020 MEI Young Person´s Award as well as Minerals Travel Award 2020. Since 2019, he is an editor in Physicochemical Problems of Mineral Processing journal.
